This privacy policy applies to the website https://hikeandcheers.com. We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data-protection laws.

2. Hosting and server log files
When you visit this website, the hosting provider may automatically process technical access data such as the requested page, date and time, browser type, operating system, referrer URL, IP address and requesting provider. This processing is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Log data is retained only for as long as required for operational security, troubleshooting and compliance with legal obligations.
3. Contact enquiries
If you contact us by email or through a connected contact form, we process the information you provide, including your name, email address and message, in order to respond to your enquiry and any follow-up questions. Depending on the context, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual communication or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for general enquiries.
The current prototype form does not yet transmit data to a server. This policy must be updated when an email, form or booking service is connected.
4. Google Fonts
This website currently loads the “Manrope” font from Google Fonts. When the page is opened, your browser may connect to Google servers and transmit technical data, including your IP address. The legal basis must be assessed according to the final hosting setup and consent configuration. For the public launch, locally hosted font files are recommended to reduce third-party data transfers.
5. Images provided by Wikimedia Commons
Some images are currently loaded from Wikimedia Commons. Your browser may therefore establish a connection to Wikimedia servers when these images are displayed. This can involve transmission of technical connection data such as your IP address. For production use, locally hosting appropriately licensed image files is recommended.
6. External links and partner pages
The website links to third-party services and partner pages, including Facebook, Restaurant Guru and HappyCow. No connection to those services is created merely by displaying a standard text link. Their own privacy policies apply once you follow an external link.
7. Cookies and analytics
The current landing-page prototype does not intentionally use analytics, advertising cookies or user accounts. Technically necessary cookies may be introduced by the final hosting, consent, booking, payment or form systems. This privacy policy and any cookie banner must be updated before those services are activated.
8. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention obligations. Enquiry data is deleted when it is no longer needed, unless legal or contractual reasons require longer storage.
9. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you have the right to access your personal data, request correction or deletion, restrict processing, object to processing, and receive data you have provided in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with future effect.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.
10. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. Internet transmission can nevertheless have security vulnerabilities, and complete protection against third-party access cannot be guaranteed.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy when the website, its services or legal requirements change. The version published on this page applies.
